Travel Lessons

Travel Lessons

I'll start by saying that my 4th of July Weekend was A M A Z I N G.

My roomies and I decided to pack our bags and go to Washington D.C. but first...we made a stop at Baltimore.

We ended up toursting the whole day at the INNER HARBOR in Baltimore, going to POWER PLANT to party!, and waking up the next morning to go to D.C.; over there we did a lot of sighseeing and we stayed just long enough to see the best 4th of July Fireworks ever! Just in the middle of the Washington Memorial and Abraham Lincoln sitting at his chair, right in front of the Reflective Pool...

What made it even better was that on our way back, leaving the beautiful and modern Washington, we were able to see like 10 different fire works from 10 different places in the area at the same time while we were driving in the highway...imagine how great that was...

Well, in between all that fun and wonderful places...we concluded on our way back home to New Jersey; that we learned some important lessons that we should keep in mind for our next stop:

1. Always trust your first guess/hunch.
(Pff...after several times of hearing the question "now what?...", "where do we go from here?..." or "do u remember the way back?")

2. The bigger the LIE...the more believable it is...
(This, after we found out that one of our co-workers engineer...is not married to the "ula ula championship" winner...he is not even married...and there is no such a thing as the "ula ula championship").

3. Even if rain is not coming your way... always bring an umbrella... TO COVER THE SUN
(This is because we were walking and melting one inch with each step...)

4. America runs on Dunkin...the perfect mix to travel: Baileys in a Dunkin Donuts iced coffe/latte.

5. If you go to a massive event...be ready for the sweaty crowded subway station after.

6. If a kidnapper approaches you...start speaking spanish (even if you don't know spanish LOL).

7. 104.5 is a great radio station at Philadelphia.

8. If you need a digestive drink: go for SAMBUCA...but make sure you have a team to help you with that.
(It took 4 people to finish 2 shots of Sambuca...GO SAMBUCA TEAM!!!).

9. And the last lesson is a lesson learned by John (who came with us to the trip)...when we said "this is going to be like traveling with your sister...but multiplied by 3..." we meant it.
LOL, I'm jk John, thanx for keeping up with the SAMBUCA team...the music recommendations (gold guns girls)...& the 1st season of DEXTER...

10. A list can't end in 9. LOL.

To all,
Thanx 4 reading LIFE GETS IN THE WAY...There and Back Again!!!

Iris.
