My Mexican Way

Last saturday I was doing some shopping here in town, I posted a picture on facebook taken at that moment while I was still in WalMart...shopping...next scene, one of my friends from New Jersey asked "do you have WalMarts in Mexico?" got me thinking a little bit, I don't get offended by questions like these...although some of my friends were, what's to be angry about?

First of all WalMart is not a mexican store so it would make perfect sense not to have one, we should have our own stores, I think it would be better if we could rely in our own mexican business instead of relying in the foreign investments, but I won't go that way in my blog because however it is there is a lot people getting a job out of there...
My question is...

having a WalMart makes you a better country?
mmm...I doubt it...

I love Mexico and I love US, the last 2 years of my life I've spent so much time at US traveling here and there, and that country has opened the doors for my career and personal development, so I couldnt say anything wrong, on the contrary I've met wonderful people and places,
but Mexico is the country I grew in...my friends and most warm people I've ever met are here...

but in the middle of all that traveling my mind tends to compare US vs Mexico, and the fight is never fair, however, sometimes is about *those small things* that makes a place so couzy, enjoyable and special that really makes a difference that's why I wanted to blog about all those little things that make MY MEXICAN WAY at Chihuahua and/or Mexico so great...

*We have different levels for love
te quiero
te quiero mucho
te amo
in english there is only TE AMO/I LOVE YOU, I haven't been able to tell my friends from US *te quiero* or *te quiero mucho* because there's no way to say it, i feel weird saying I Love You...

*There's nothing better than going out on a Thursday night at Chihuahua to catch a coffee with a friend at one of our mexican coffe shops...no Starbucks night! I swear there is something about Thursdays in Chihuahua, the week is almost over but not over yet...you can feel it in the environment...or is it just me?

*If you dance and kiss someone on a "crazy" clubbing night ...most likely that's all the "crazyness" a guy will get, No!...that girl won't end up in your bed that night...that's not what a kiss means in Mexico...

*When you meet someone on a saturday night...classic move, that new guy will ask you to the movies for a Sunday at the movies in Plaza del Sol...

*We don't have a dance floor at the nightclubs, so we talk, make jokes, get updated, dance a little bit and get drunk during a friday night...is all about the social life over here

*Talking about society...you always know your neighbors, they know your name, will take care of your dog if you go out to travel, all the kids go and play at the streets, they say hi when you take out the garbage in the mornings...will get invited to your neighbor's birthday, bachelorette and wedding party...

*When your car breaks down, there is always a bus station nerby you can use...

*Coldy is a great ice cream everyone knows and loves...a very unique Chihuahua thing...

*More people say "most of my family lives here...so this is where I live", yep, we stay together...can't judge that!

*La Deportiva is this great huge park where you start every January (New Years favorite Resolution:loose weight), this is where you go for a walk, to excercise, to eat *elotes*.

*Fruits and vegetables are really cheap (OMG! How much I missed the prices of these 2 things while I was at US)...

*When you are at a nightclub hanging out with a boy, they usually walk you to the bathroom no matter how many times you have to go...you have to appreciate that...I got used to not having that while I was at US but when I came back I never thought I would actually appreciate it!

Now you cant have that anywhere else...

just those little things I find very unique and I love...

sometimes I use this blog to remind myself about the important stuff... ;)

Thank you for reading
